The Field Snack is an edible crafted item. The recipe is earned at Foraging Skill level 1. Field Snacks can occasionally be found in Garbage Cans throughout Pelican Town.

Tailoring

Field Snack is used in the spool of the Sewing Machine to create the Denim Jacket.

Quests

One Field Snack may be requested by Crayfish, Periwinkle, or Snail in a Fish Pond quest to increase the capacity of the pond from 7 to 10.

Tips

Field Snack is arguably the best source of additional energy for a new farmer in their first Spring. The next best sources of energy for a new farmer on an E/$ basis are Tulip, Spring Onion, and Salmonberries, though all have limitations. Salmonberries @ 1.67+ E/$ aren't available until mid-Spring. Spring Onion @ 1.625+ E/$ is better until Spring Onion Mastery is earned, meaning it may be better to keep Spring Onions to sell later. Tulip @ 1.5+ E/$ can only be grown to obtain significant quantity, and so requires a significant energy investment in addition to it's $ cost.

A new farmer can check the existing trees on the farm without expending further energy. Additional seeds can be purposefully dug from around trees as well for a small amount of E, meaning tree seeds are plentiful on the farm from the first Spring, and until the remaining trees are removed to facilitate expansion. Field Snack grants 1.5 E/$, using the value of the tree seeds before the snack is made(45 E for 30 g).
