|These pigs are trained to find truffles! Lives in the barn.|
- Main article: Animals
Pigs mature after 10 days. The Pig will dig up Truffles and leave them on the ground, which sell for a base of 625g. You do not need to stay on the farm screen for them to produce truffles.
A pig's chance of creating produce is governed by the rules listed in the Produce section of Animal Care with three exceptions:
- They must be let outside to create their produce.
- They cannot produce truffles in Winter or Rain.
- They must be placed in a natural pasture area. Truffles cannot be produced on tiles that contain Pathing (flooring, gravel, etc.), grass, debris or other objects. A pasture may be enclosed by fencing or other obstacle to pig movement, concentrating the area where you must look for the truffles. Truffles can sometimes be found on tiles adjacent to the enclosure but outside the pen.
- Each pig has a chance of digging up multiple truffles, which is a percent chance equal to Animal Friendship/1500. At max friendship this means it has a 66% chance of creating a truffle. Multiple truffles can be made until the animal fails this check, so under optimal conditions a pig will produce an average of about two truffles, more or less.
Pigs, like all other animals except rabbits, have a low chance to reproduce and can produce baby pigs. The more animals there are inside the same barn, the higher the chance an animal will give birth.
Truffles benefit from professions such as Gatherer, allowing for double harvest, as well as Botanist, making all Truffles iridium quality. However, Truffles do not benefit from the Rancher profession.
Truffles not gathered on the 28th day of a season disappear on the following morning, the 1st day of the new season.
|Truffle||A gourmet type of mushroom with a unique taste.||
Pigs can be sold. The selling price is dependent on how many hearts the animal has (20,800g max).
To sell a coop or barn animal, right-click the animal after petting. The friendship/mood interface appears. Move the cursor over the gold coin button at the right to see how much you can sell the animal for. Click that button and the confirmation that follows to complete the sale.
