Talk:Deluxe Speed-Gro

Does anyone know if the fertilizer rounds up or down growth? Also, if it does round up, how conservative are they (does it only round up 0.5 and above or does it round up any decimal ie. 0.1?)

Ie. Two fruit with 6 and 7 days maturity are reduced to 4.5 (6*0.75) and 5.25 (7*0.75) respectively. Do they take 4 and 5, both take 5 or take 5 and 6 days to grow?

It will be 4 and 5 days. The game does 6*0.25 (1.5), rounds up (2), then removes growth days. There is a quirk though.
To determine how fast a crop will grow, the % is taken of the total growth time. Lets use starfruit with deluxe speed gro and agriculturalist as an example. 13 days to grow, 13 * 0.35 = 4.65. This rounds up to 5, so 5 days are to be taken off the days to grow. A starfruit has growth phases of 2 3 2 3 3 99999. The 99999 is the fully grown phase. Phases are cycled through, with days being removed until 5 days have been removed. The first phase can never go 0, but subsequent phases can. So the phases end up being 1 2 1 2 2 99999, so 8 days to grow. In some cases one of these discount days are lost to the fully grown phase. Consider pumpkins. Like starfruit, 13 days to grow. Phases of 1 2 3 4 3 99999. Since first phase can never be 0, it becomes 1 1 2 3 2 99998, so 9 days to grow. This also affects wild seeds, sweet gem berries and ancient fruit.BlaDe (talk) 21:44, 22 August 2020 (UTC)

True value of oak resin

I don't agree with the statement that crafting fertilizer is cheaper than buying it, because to most people, the true value of Oak Resin is far greater than its sell price of 150g. Oak Resin is an important ingredient for Kegs, and therefore no experienced player will sell one other than to complete the shipping collection. Buying fertilizer is always the wiser economic choice due to the opportunity cost of using Oak Resin for fertilizer instead of Kegs. Baconfry39 (talk) 04:50, 14 January 2021 (UTC)
