I JUST picked up a Dwarf Scroll IV from level 11 in the mines: http://i.imgur.com/IU8xfxe.png. This makes me think that all the scrolls are potential loot in all levels. --GregariousJB (talk) 15:09, 13 April 2016 (EDT)

The first sentence on the page says "The Dwarf Scroll IV is an Artifact that can be found as a drop from any monster, or using the Hoe on dirt in The Mines deeper than level 81." So, have you found the scroll while tilling soil above level 81, or as a monster drop? margotbean (talk) 19:14, 2 May 2017 (BST)

In 1.4 code it seems to say that the chance of this dropping from mosters (most but not all) is 0.1% or 1 in 1000, so you are much more likely to get it on lower levels where monsters are more easy to kill. As for digging it up, it only can be done in area 80 which is levels 81-120, and the chance there is 0.07*0.25*0.75 or just over 1% --Erinthe (talk) 23:07, 28 Nov 2019 (EST)

Missing Sources

In addition to the skeleton, serpent, and wilderness golem not dropping Dwarf Scroll IV, there are four more that do not, including: Carbon Ghost, Iridium Bat, Iridium Crab, and Haunted Skull. The way it is worded at the moment will extend the list, but I can't see any other way to keep it concise. Sylphoid (talk) 20:55, 21 April 2020 (UTC)

Agreed. The list is still smaller than the list of monsters that can drop it, so we'll go with the exclusion list. Thanks for pointing this out! margotbean (talk) 11:11, 22 April 2020 (UTC)
