Why Grow Green Beans?

This seems to be a very low-profit crop, with a low yield per harvest, and relatively few harvests at that. Other than completing the Bean Hotpot recipe and the Polyculture achievement, is there much reason to grow these? Astronautty (talk) 08:03, 7 May 2017 (BST)

Well, there are the quests. And if the profit from fullfilling them is not much either, the friendship gains can be nice, especially while you're building relationships in the town. That goes for gifting also. It's a cheap "like" for most villagers, an easy way to build friendship. And then there's the spring crops bundle - one more for that.

Don't discount the hotpot either. It gives moderate health benefits for a very modest price. Having food to restore energy can be important to all sorts of game play activity, and that food often costs much more substantial gold. Do a price comparison among the recipes you have available at any time, and then consider how much help this can be to you. Remember you're almost certain to pay for something!

But otherwise, yes. You won't grow rich off it, at least not quickly. For profit, look elsewhere. Butterbur (talk) 17:29, 8 May 2017 (BST)
