The page could probably use the generic formula for reference; all preserves are base value *2 + 50. --PenguinTod (talk) 15:46, 3 March 2016 (EST)

The single harvest "Hops" is missing. I know 100% it can be pickled. Yam too. I will delete the "x" next to Yam. --Morningdew (talk) 17:12, 3 March 2016 (EST)

I wish I found this page earlier. I have already tested all preserves (and wines/juices), and I can confirm that they all follow the formula of 2x+50. However, the Sweet Gem Berry cannot be preserved nor wined. I tried. It's not flagged with an item type, it's just... an item... It has no fruit or vegetable tag. I'll look through the tables really quick to make sure no one got the formula wrong on any of them, and I'll remove the Sweet Gem Berry for now, but someone might wanna make a note of it somewhere that it cannot be jammed. --Jurk0wski (talk) 00:20, 4 March 2016 (EST)

Actually, scratch that, I only tested all crops, I did not test Leeks or Spring Onions, as well as some of the foragables, as they didn't fit into the spreadsheet I was making. --Jurk0wski (talk) 00:22, 4 March 2016 (EST)
I've removed Sweet Gem Berry, removed "needs confirm" except for the foragables as it's no longer needed for the others. Red cabbage, cranberries, and eggplants had some part of their prices wrong, so I've changed that too, but without actual formulas handling the numbers, I cannot verify the accuracy of the "profit per day" that someone made, nor can I properly fix the 3 crops above if they need fixing in that regard.--Jurk0wski (talk) 00:42, 4 March 2016 (EST)

I've done a fairly significant rewrite of the page that combines the Foraged/Farming Single Harvest/Farming Multiple Harvests/Fruit Trees into a single table, includes calculated profit from regular/silver/gold quality input crops, and applies a consistent profit-per-day formula to them all. The rationale for combining the categories was: most players will be looking at this page to try to figure out how to maximize their profit from preserves jars, and that's easiest to compare if all crops are in a single sortable table. Most other information on Preserves Jars is on other pages. The profit-per-day formula simply divides the monetary gain from processing the crop by the processing time. This formula is probably the most useful, because it treats the time to grow the crop and the time to process it as separate concerns. (The preserves jar can be processing something else while waiting for a starfruit to grow, for example. It doesn't make sense to count the grow time against the profit-per-day.) A major downside of this rewrite is readability; the older version of the page was more concise, and having the crops broken out by category was nice for seeing which crops can be processed. I think the rewrite makes the page more useful, but maybe it'd be better to also put the simple and categorized input crop list back in? The older profit-per-day calculations were confusing and should probably be left out permanently. Gchristopher (talk) 00:35, 8 April 2016 (EDT)

Products table

Do we need to do a new table for the products section? It is currently transcluding the products table from Preserves Jar, but that now includes Caviar/Aged Roe which don't really fit on this page. Or should Jelly and Pickle get split off to their own pages in the same way as Aged Roe, as this page seems to be pretty much in effect just duplicating Preserves Jar? Since the table is transcluded on the Artisan Goods page as well, I just copy/pasted the jellies and pickles rows of the table. Quick fix, at least for now. margotbean (talk) 00:12, 3 December 2019 (UTC)
