1.4 update

I did my best to cover the new stuff, although that's somewhat difficult as I've only been able to get as far as level 4. MageKing17 (talk) 10:26, 29 November 2019 (UTC)

Thanks so much! I love how you put the "is actually fun" part in quotes. It's debateable... Anyway good luck in your efforts! margotbean (talk) 16:06, 29 November 2019 (UTC)

Level skip

I'm unsure of the exact mechanics, but I just did so well on Slippery Slopes that I finished with 6 lives, and the cart took a shortcut on the world map, bypassing level 3 entirely and skipping straight to Ghastly Galleon. I can't recall if I avoided dying during Crumble Cavern before that, though, so I'm not sure if the requirement is "don't die during first two levels" or just "have 6 lives". MageKing17 (talk) 02:17, 30 November 2019 (UTC)

Okay, it's not "having six lives", and it's also not "don't die for the first two levels" because the second time it happened I definitely did die in Crumble Cavern, and I missed the orange in Slippery Slopes, so I only had 5 lives, but I still took the shortcut. I'm fairly certain I had previously beaten Slippery Slopes without dying and with missing a fruit and didn't take the shortcut, so perhaps the actual condition has to do with level completion time (i.e. must use slope speed boost sufficiently to finish fast enough to skip the third stage?). MageKing17 (talk) 00:27, 2 December 2019 (UTC)
You my friend are correct! It is the speed at which you clear Slippery Slopes, out of all of my runs, the only ones to get the skip are ones that include use of holding momentum from ice jumps, while also not dying. Im still not sure exactly how fast you have to beat the level, or if its possible to beat the level fast enoguh while also still dying. Im going to test a little bit more then make a post with as much detail as possible!ItsFreakinEthan (talk) 11:19, 12 December 2019 (UTC)
Nearly a whole year later and I have finally come up with a definitive reason for why this level skip occurs. The level skip is an intended mechanic (not a glitch) and occurs when the player completes Slippery Slopes in less than 60 seconds. I found this by looking into the game code for Junimo Kart level transitions (public void initLevelTransitions() in the code). There is a seperate level transition for Slippery Slopes that references () => secondsOnThisLevel <= 60f. I will be updating the page to include this skip FINALLY! Bless you, Ethan! Thank you for figuring that out and updating the wiki! margotbean (talk) 16:21, 31 October 2020 (UTC)

Extra level

I found out that if you manage to perfect clear (get all coins, fruits and don't lose any lives) the Crumble Cavern level you will skip the Slippery Slopes level and instead enter a Extra level titled "???", which is full of coins and without any obstacles after which you will enter the The Gem Sea Giant or Slomp's Stomp. I don't know if something happens if you also get a perfect clear in the extra level or if you will also enter a extra level for a perfect clear of the other levels since it's too hard to actually manage to do it. Jazteer (talk) 17:22, 7 December 2019 (UTC)

I can confirm this, and will make edits to the page to indicate this level as well as the exact requirements to get to it! As far as other stages go, in my dozens of hours playing the new Junimo Kart, Ive only encountered this one unique unmentioned stage. Im rewatching a lot of the footage to check and see if I had any other Perfect clears, as well as trying to better understand what might be causing the boss skip mentioned earlier! Ill make updates as I find them! Junimo Kart is Life, Junimo Kart is love. ItsFreakinEthan (talk) 12:37, 11 December 2019 (UTC)
I'm so glad you found us here on the wiki, Ethan.  :) margotbean (talk) 17:03, 11 December 2019 (UTC)
