On Tuesdays, Evelyn may say that they can be found in the mountains, where they may be more common, but Leeks can be found above ground throughout Stardew Valley.

Leeks (as with basically all foraged vegetables/fruits) etc. only grow on specific maps.

This is based on my observations across dozens of games plus also confirmed in code, specifically GameLocation::spawnObjects. The file Locations.xnb specifies what items will automatically spawn (per season) on each map, along with chances for each item (0-1). The chances are a bit misleading (they don't necessarily sum to a value of 1), and need to be renormalized to be meaningful.

The upshot is that leeks are far more common in the Mountains and Backwoods (58% of all spring forage items). They are possible at the Bus Stop (20%), Railroad (20%), and the Forest Farm (25%). But they are never found in town, Cindersap forest, secret woods, or beach. Nebulous Maestress (talk) 21:23, 9 July 2020 (UTC)
