I'd really like there to be more information on Lightning rods. Perhaps not so much on lightning rods, but maybe lightning itself? What I'd like there to be on this page: How often does lightning strike, how many rods do you need to protect your farm? I dunno how to decompile the code to look at it and I'm trying to find references on reddit, but not having great success. Not a super easy thing to test. Anyways, if anyone has time to look at the code for lightning it'd be real handy.--Auhfel (talk) 05:30, 16 March 2018 (UTC)

Try searching the internet for ".NET decompiler". I use ILSpy, but JetBrain's dotPeek is also popular.
I have looked at the code, trying to verify that lightning rod placement does not matter, but without success. Lightning strikes are random, but there may be a probability to be found in the code. margotbean (talk) 18:18, 16 March 2018 (UTC)

Did the mechanics of this change?

I have six lightning rods around a smallish area on my farm, and I'm still getting several plants ruined every storm - even if, the next morning, there are lightning rods with no batteries waiting for me. I remember this being a lot better when I was playing awhile back on Xbox One (pre-1.4 update, probably pre-1.3). Did the odds of successful lightning capture change in an update or something?
