Rare NPCs
So I was in the lobby getting ready to watch Mysterium with Abigail (fall 2 , year 2), and Marcello the balloon guy from the trailer was standing next to theater doors. His text box reads "Marcello: What a spread! I think I'll go for the 12-grain spicy mustard. Hehe!" As far as I know, this is the only appearance of Marcello remaining in the game after he was cut. It might also be worthwhile to research if there are any other rare NPCs that spawn in the movie theater. Anyways, I just wanted to share my discovery with the world, I apologize if I formatted things wrong. - Haxolotl (talk) 02:24, 30 January 2020 (UTC)
- Marcello appears in Harvey's 10-heart event. I'm not aware that he was ever cut from the game. Dobson was cut from the opening cutscene, but he never appears in the Movie Theater. margotbean (talk) 15:32, 30 January 2020 (UTC)

Adjusted some NPC gift reactions (Vincent and Jas now dislike Triple Shot Espresso, Dwarf now loves Lemon Stone, and Sam now enjoys concession stand Joja Cola.)

- Of course those values are in a data file that can't be extracted with normal XNB extractors. I'll get to that asap. The other method of testing is to compare save file values for increase in friendship, but compiling a program and waiting for it to extract a couple hundred MB of data is probably quicker. margotbean (talk) 20:54, 31 January 2020 (UTC)

Crane Game
I got seasonal plant 6 several times in Spring (when the second set of movies was on). I didn't see 5 at all. This is in 1.4.5.433754439 from GoG on Windows. I haven't edited the page since I am concerned it could be different in different versions. Sip0s (talk) 21:40, 7 June 2020 (UTC)

Movie preferences on villager pages?
It feels a bit cumbersome that villager preferences for movies/food are only listed on this page, forcing people to use Ctrl+F to find information that's relevant to them. Would it be possible to also list preferences on each villager's individual page?
We could add a table like this at the end of the Gifts section, inside a collapsible to avoid clutter and spoilers for people who haven't unlocked the theater yet:

- I agree that the current table format isn't totally ideal, but adding to villager pages (in 12 languages) doesn't seem like a good solution to me, especially when the main reason is to avoid searching the Movie Theater page. The concessions snacks are already sorted by villager above, and there's no friendship loss for choosing the wrong movie or snack. - Yikes, I didn't even think about all the translating that would take. Perhaps we could move villager preferences to their own table instead? So the movie/food tables look like this:

- Well, DrDean, that would involve changes in all other languages as well, which makes me think "yikes!!" as you so aptly put it! :D
- I don't think losing info (i.e., everyone's likes) is a good solution, if you're suggesting replacement of the existing table (did I read that right?)
- If I'm being brutally honest, I still don't think it's a huge problem that users have to crtl+f on the current page, but a solution might be to create separate pages ("Movie Theater/Movie Preferences" and "Movie Theater/Concessions Preferences") and link to them from the main page. This would add one line of text to the existing page (e.g., For preferences sorted by villager, see 'Name of new page' and 'Name of other new page'), and allow translators the most flexibility in updating the page. - Brutally honestly, there is clearly a demand for not having to Ctrl-F through the the provided two tables. Ctrl-f'ing works okay on desktop but is particularly bad on mobile. I see two common uses for which the existing tables don't seem very helpful -- a) given the currently playing movie, whom should I bring and what should I buy?, and b) How can I increase my friendship at the movies with character X? For a), I've created a table that I use like crazy because it's so helpful for *both* questions. I added it to the page, but it got yanked. But it's clearly useful information because you can cleanly read from left-to-right what you want to do, instead of Ctrl-F'ing all over the place and comparing to what's available in the game. Ctrl-F'ing is particularly bad on mobile, because you can't see the headings in the middle of a table. If my table needs to be in a separate page to reduce clutter, then cool. Leo preferences
I added Leo's movie and concession preferences based on my interpretation of the "Movies," "MoviesReactions," "Concessions," and "ConcessionsTastes" files in the Data folder of the unpacked game content. (His concession preferences currently default to the universal preferences, so I wouldn't be surprised if those are updated at some point in the future to better align with his normal gift tastes). Anyways, I removed the Stub marker based on those changes, but if actual in-game testing reveals I'm wrong please update the page. (And perhaps let me know here - I'd be curious to find if additional preferences are hard-coded somewhere else :D). Efarn (talk) 03:43, 22 January 2021 (UTC)
Marlon's preference
I have noticed that marlon likes every movie. But how could players invite marlon to the movie theater? I can't even give the ticket to him.
Besides this, Gill's page says that "Gil does accompany Marlon to the movie theatre, where he frequently falls asleep." Do they both go to the movie theater? This description was added since this version.I haven't seen them in the movie theater so far in the game.

- You can't ask Marlon or Gil to the movies, their names should not be on the page. They show up randomly in the lobby, where you can talk to Marlon, but Gil is asleep in a chair behind a table, and inaccessible. margotbean (talk) 15:47, 9 February 2021 (UTC)
