Obstructing Growth to Maturity

(This will presumably apply to Oak and Maple Trees too)

I thought it was only another fully mature tree that prevented common trees from growing from a stage 4 sapling to full maturity, not other items or debris. I know for a fact that pathing doesn't stop it growing, but I'm not certain enough about other items to actually go ahead and make that change, and I'm not in a position to test it on a farm right now, so perhaps someone else can provide clarity. Wow, that info was added back in 2016. I'm 99% certain it's incorrect, and that debris does not prevent a common tree from growing, but a test and/or code check would be prudent. margotbean (talk) 18:02, 3 December 2018 (UTC)

Yeah, I've absolutely no idea about code, so I did a quick test. Code can be misleading anyway. After clearing every single mature tree on a shiny new farm (hooray for CJB item spawner) and planting a whole bunch of each of the three common trees, the result was that nothing seems to stop them except other mature trees. Apart from observing them next to grass and debris, I tried a selection of craftables, and also made sure I planted them next to large stumps, large logs, large boulders, farm lakes, greenhouse etc, and they all grew. So I've now rewritten the opening paragraph to all three pages, not only to correct the error, but also in an attempt to make it less awkward. One More Day (talk) 20:23, 3 December 2018 (UTC)

FWIW, I also planted about 200 Pine Cones on Winter 1 and definitely can confirm that Pine Trees don't grow in Winter either One More Day (talk) 20:26, 3 December 2018 (UTC)
