Should the Community Upgrade be marked as a spoiler?
I'm honestly not sure what the policy on the wiki is for spoilers, but if all the secret notes are hidden, this seems like a good candidate to be handled that way as well. Overlord Odin (talk) 04:43, 14 November 2019 (UTC)
- It could go either way. I'm fine with it as is. At one point, someone requested the Giant Crops be put in a spoiler section, and then eventually that was removed in favor of just showing the images. The Secret Notes page would be pretty lengthy if the notes weren't in collapsable sections. margotbean (talk) 15:21, 14 November 2019 (UTC)
- Yeah, I'm not sure I'd consider giant crops a spoiler. I would prefer to see the Community Upgrade be marked as a spoiler though, since it can only be discovered significantly later in the game, and yet appears on the Trailer page which new players might be looking at. - If you feel strongly, you can make the change, but I ask that you do so in the 7 languages that currently have a Trailer page, and also consider that the same info is on the Carpenter Shop page without spoiler tags, and that page also exists in 7 other languages. On mobile, unfortunately, all collapsable elements are un-collapsed, so there's no hiding the info there. margotbean (talk) 22:51, 14 November 2019 (UTC)
- I certainly don't mind making the edit across all variations of the page, I'm sure I can match how things are done on other pages. Specifically, the Community Center page seems to cover everything I'd need for translations. The fact that info appears on the Carpenter Shop page as well is a bit of a wrinkle. I'm seeing that the text on that page is the same, with some parts omitted. Would it be worth including the full text on both pages? My thought is just that only one sentence of the info on the community center page would really be a spoiler and it might look odd to have a spoiler for just that. - I personally prefer it exactly as is, with a sentence or 2 on the Carpenter's Shop page, and more details on the Trailer page.
- I agree that adding a collapsable element to the Carpenter Shop page (as it is, with only a couple of sentences) would be too much. I also think the layout of the Trailer page is good with the element un-collapsed, but as I said, you're free to collapse it. When you talk about the Community Center page, you're talking about copying the collapsable format, right? Because in that last sentence you typed "community center" when I think you meant "Carpenter's Shop"... margotbean (talk) 19:34, 19 November 2019 (UTC)
