Tuna seem unusually rare in the winter. Can anyone confirm this? TalkingCactus (talk) 00:50, 15 January 2017 (UTC)

I can confirm that the spawn chances do not differ by season. But there is a random number involved in the calculation that may account for what you're experiencing.

chance = 0.15
chance -= max(0, (3 - actual depth)) * 0.0825
chance += fishing level / 50
chance = min(chance, 0.89999999)
If a random number between 0 and 1 is <= chance
	then Tuna will spawn
