'''Multiplayer''' is an optional game mode in which 1–4 players can play in join the same world through split-screen, over LAN , or the Internetby IP address. Multiplayer is available on the PC, PlayStation 4, (Linux/Mac/Windows) and console (PS4/Switch, and /Xbox One ) versions, but is not available on the mobile (iOS, /Android ) or Playstation PS Vita ports. There is both Online Co-op and Split-screen Co-op which is 2–4 players, and additional services may be necessary, depending on the platform. Cross-platform play is not supported in Stardew Valley multiplayer.
The player who created the world (is the "host") , and the other players are "farmhands". The host has the save file on their system, and can launch play it in both multiplayer and single-player mode, and can play solo at any time. If the host is not isn't online or the farm is not isn't currently open to other players, then farmhands can't access the world is not accessible to other players who had previously connected to the world (the "farmhands") and they cannot view or their characters or any other information from in that world.
