It is used mainly for breaking [[stones]] and [[furniture]] items (including [[Crafting#Decor|floors]] and [[sprinklers]]). With each upgrade level, the number of hits required are reduced and bigger [[stones]] may become breakable.
Using the pickaxe on an enemy will deal a small portion of damage to the monster, similarly similar to swing action other [[toolsweapons]].
