The '''Pickaxe''' is a [[tool]] in [[Stardew Valley]]. It is obtained at the beginning of the game.
It is used mainly for breaking [[stonesstone]] s and picking up placed [[equipment]] or [[furniture]] items (such as [[Crafting#Decor|floors]] and [[Crafting#Sprinklers|sprinklers]]). It is also used to un-till soil that has been tilled with a [[Hoe]].
With each upgrade level, the number of hits required to break stones is reduced and bigger [[stonesstone]] s may become breakable.
Using the pickaxe on a [[Monsters|Monster]] will deal a small portion of damage, similar to other [[weapons]].
