Despite the description stating that this seed "''takes all season to grow''", it takes only 24 days. If using [[Speed-Gro]] or [[Deluxe Speed-Gro]], the player has up to Day 7 of [[Fall]] to plant this seed, and it will be harvestable before [[Winter]].

Since the Seed Maker creates an average of two seeds from one Sweet Gem Berry, and that only 97.5% of the time, and since a Sweet Gem Berry is worth at least {{price|3000}} (more if it's of advanced quality), each Rare Seed produced from the Seed Maker is created at a cost of more than {{price|1500}}, perhaps as much as {{price|2250}}. This makes the maximum price of {{price|1000}} at the Travel Cart a much better buy, even though the quantities offered there are limited.
