Each day new rocks and nodes will spawn, so to prevent valuable spawns from being blocked by existing rocks, make sure to keep the quarry entirely cleared.
Unlike using [[Crafting#Bombs|bombs]] in the mines, bombing the quarry destroys mostly everything except for just a few rocks and [[Mining#Mining Nodes|ore nodes]], leaving only [[stone]]s for collectionto collect. Bombs do not destroy [[Mining#Mining Nodes|gem nodes]] in the Quarry.
