Bait is a type of item that can be attached to a [[Fiberglass Rod]] or an [[Iridium Rod]], or inserted in to into a [[Crab Pot]]. Crab Pots require bait to catch [[fish]], but fishing rods do not require it. However, attaching bait to a fishing rod will apply effects that can help decrease the player catch delay before a fishbites or increase the chance to find treasure.
==Usage==
Excluding the bamboo rod, to To attach the bait to your a fishing rod, enter the inventory menu and click on the bait (left-click or right-click, depending on how many you want to pick up), and then right-click on the rod. The To remove bait you selected then disappears from view, but it remains associated with right-click on the rod. Exit the inventory menu to begin fishing. You will use  Each cast uses one piece of bait each time you castor one magnet. When (if) you use up all the selected baitis used up, the game notifies you with pops up a pop-up message. If you finish fishing without depleting notification saying "You've used your last piece of bait, it remains indefinitely (and invisibly) with the rod for next time. You may also enter the inventory menu again and right-click the rod to separate the bait and put it back in visible inventory."
On an Xbox controller, press A on the bait to select the whole stack (or X to pick up a single one), then X to attach to the rod.
On a PS4 controller, press X on the bait to select the whole stack (or [] to pick up a single one), then [] to attach to the rod.
Only one bait will be consumed per use. The remaining bait Bait can be detached by right-clicking the rod in your backpack or pressing X on the either Controller.
