* Preparing a recipe that requires an unspecific item (''e.g.'', [[Maki Roll]], requiring any fish) can use up an ingredient that is specifically required for another recipe (''e.g.'', [[Trout Soup]], requiring [[Rainbow Trout]]). This can sometimes be prevented simply by cooking the Trout Soup before the Maki Roll. However, every recipe searches for ingredients first in the player's inventory, in order, last slot to first, and then in the refrigerator, last slot to first. Place your generic fish items in the last slots of your inventory and your specific items in places searched later. Then the recipes you cook will use those items instead of any alternatives.
