All fertilizer can be [[Crafting#Fertilizer|crafted]], once the required level of [[Farming#Farming Skill|Farming]] or [[Foraging#Foraging Skill|Foraging]] skill is reached. Fertilizer can also be purchased at [[Pierre's General Store]] year-round, or at [[Oasis|The Oasis]] on specific [[Days of the Week|days of the week]].
Fertilizer remains in the soil all season. When the season changes, fertilizer normally disappears. However, there are two exceptions in which fertilizer will remain in the soil:
*If a multi-season [[crops|crop]] (''i.e.'', [[Ancient Fruit]], [[Coffee Bean]], [[Corn]], [[Sunflower]], or [[Wheat]]) is planted in the fertilized tile, and the new season is one in which the crop grows, the fertilizer will remain.
*Any crop planted in the greenhouse before its normal growing season will retain its fertilizer if the new season is one in which it normally grows.
Note that crop quality is determined at harvest time and not at planting time, so fertilizer used in the [[Greenhouse]] on crops which will mature out of their normal growing season will disappear before harvest and have no effect.
Only one type of fertilizer may be used per soil tile. Removing a crop with a [[Tools|Tool]] like the [[Pickaxes|Pickaxe]] does not remove the fertilizer. Only one type of fertilizer may be used per , but using the tool again will un-till the soil tile, which does remove fertilizer.
