Purpose of Heater

Is there something I'm missing? Is the heater effectively the same as petting animals? Do they lose hearts without one in the winter? Do animals in general lose hearts like villagers if you don't keep petting them?--Enkidu (talk) 05:05, 21 October 2016 (BST)

Perhaps there is. Heaters are not the same as petting animals because it only increases happiness during the winter night. They will not lose or gain hearts due to lack of heater. Yes, animals lose hearts like villagers if you don't pet them and their friendship is under 2000 (5 hearts). --BryghtShadow (talk) 12:14, 21 October 2016 (BST)

I've updated this with the additional mood information. Animals do lose ten points of friendship per day if they have no heat. EDIT: Totally wrong about the heater reduction, just did a sanity test on the information I was adding.
