What's the actual chance of getting one of these on the line and what maximizes it? (Unsigned question by Slimer)
- Coincidentally, I was just tracking the down same question for Ice Pips, which are very similar. For Lava Eels the chance of hooking one is:
0.01 + 0.008 * (1 + 0.4 * Fishing_Level + 0.1 * Fishing_Zone)- So if you cast to Zone=5 and have fishing level 10 I think that comes out to 0.054 (5.4%).
- To maximize, cast to Fishing Zone 5 (see this map). And use Fishing Buffs. +3 Fishing adds 0.0096, e.g., nearly 1%.
- But best case it's still a pretty small chance, so it's probably going to take a few tries. Good luck! Nebulous Maestress (talk) 02:00, 2 November 2020 (UTC)
