-- Cooking page seriously borked --

Kamyk2000 August 04 2016 7:47 P.M. Est

Sorry if I'm doing this wrong, I couldn't find any other page to report this, or even how to add a new post to a pre-existing page. When I go to the cooking/recipes page http://stardewvalleywiki.com/Cooking it shows nothing but a page full of garbage characters like these "cb"W:zm(;}' ]|FՌ". The entire page is nothing but those kinds of characters.

The page needs to be rolled back or repaired.

I apologize if there is some more immediate or appropriate way to report this, but I couldn't find one.

Edit: Apparently this also is the case with the gourmet chef page: http://stardewvalleywiki.com/Gourmet_Chef

and the travelling cart page: http://stardewvalleywiki.com/Travelling_Cart

(I'm going to keep looking so hopefully there wont' be more but I'm guessing someone deliberately mucked up quite a number of pages at this point)

The page for wallpapers: http://stardewvalleywiki.com/Wallpaper

Flooring: http://stardewvalleywiki.com/Flooring

Crops: http://stardewvalleywiki.com/Crops

That appears to be all borked pages from the main contents page plus gourmet chef but I have no clue how many sub-pages like gourmet chef might be messed up too. What a shame someone gets a kick out of ruining other peoples effort.

Those pages render fine for me, but I've seen another report of this from someone else. Could I ask what browser you're using so I can try to make this happen? Katzeus (talk) 11:00, 5 August 2016 (EDT)

Sure,I'm on google chrome Version 51.0.2704.103 m - Kamyk2000 - 4:30 pm, 5 August 2016 (EST)
Could we have what operating system you're running on aswell? mycat (talk) 17:06, 5 August 2016 (EDT)

Yes was trying but I edit slow and you beat me to the punch :P

Just updated to Chrome Version 52.0.2743.116 m and it didn't fix the broken pages. Also if it's at all helpful my specs are:

Windows 7, AMD 8120 8 core, 16 GB ram, Nvidia 550 Ti 2 GB

This is what I see on those pages: Photobucket link since I have no clue how to inline pictures in the wiki. [[1]]

Also as a note i just tried those pages in Internet explorer. Same mess of garbage. And I have already run spybot, malwarebytes, and Kaspersky. So it's not a virus, malware or bho.

Also as a note, all pages worked just fine for me 3 or 4 days ago.

I don't know what (if anything) was done but all the pages seems to work again now. I guess whatever bug or troll was messing them up buggered off. If someone fixed it. Thank you.

I am running Mac OS 10.11.6 El Capitan and am using Safari 9.1.2 and have restarted my browser and computer and have deleted cookies but all of those pages you've listed don't work for me at all. They just have all the weird characters and they haven't worked for me for about a week now. I am able to open them all up on Chrome so I guess for those pages for now I'll use chrome but all the other wiki pages work just fine for me and these ones used to work just fine for me before about a week ago.

Perhaps it's a font issue, try using this to see if it's a font on your system thats gimping safari

Well I tried the What Font thingy and all it says on the glitchy pages is webkit standard. So now what?

It sounds like a Safari issue more than a website issue, the Safari rendering engine might not support this website. I'll see what I can do to support this website across different browsers and find the problem. mycat (talk) 20:04, 9 August 2016 (EDT)
