Feel free to talk to me.

Wiki français? Formidable! Que tu aies tous succès! Et sois libre de me parler aussi. Moi-même, je tenterai à ne pas trop mal casser la belle langue. (Pardonne mes faux. J'ai peu de chance à pratiquer.) Butterbur (talk) 07:17, 9 October 2017 (BST)

Merci pour ton accueil chaleureux. How is it that you are speaking French so well?--Mornesonge (talk) 20:49, 9 October 2017 (BST)
Vraiment? Nice of you to say so! I had some good schooling in the sixties, and I did work at learning so that I wouldn't forget. I've refreshed recently using Duolingo, which has brought back some fluency. But I never mastered the whole language - not enough vocabulary, no opportunities to speak it, nor to travel. I just like the thought of putting it to a little use when I can. If I see a door, I open it. Il me donne de la plaisir. And I suppose it's those little habits that have enabled me to keep it from going fallow all these years. Butterbur (talk) 23:45, 9 October 2017 (BST)
Well, it all proves to be quite efficient. I didn't expect anybody to talk to me in French here, so it was a nice surprise. Also Duolingo is a nice online resource to study language indeed. I still have a lot to learn when it comes to the English language myself. Translating resources for my own pleasure is a good way to improve though, and I already learned a lot while working on that French wiki project. I only wish I had more time for it, but who doesn't? --Mornesonge (talk) 11:43, 10 October 2017 (BST)
Well, it all proves to be quite fun also, so the time just appears to disappear, n'est-ce pas? Your command of English looks excellent to me, but of course, there is no end to what there is to learn when it comes to speaking any language, even one's own. Maybe that's what makes it so intriguing.
At any rate, if you have questions about your translating/English, you're welcome to send me a line here, and we'll see what an extra brain and ten fingers can do. 1 + 1 > 2 in everything except math. Butterbur (talk) 01:13, 11 October 2017 (BST)
That's very true. One aspect of translation I enjoy most is how it makes me question my own language. Also thank you again for your support and your offer, it's very welcome. --Mornesonge (talk) 15:56, 12 October 2017 (BST)
