Amethyst node spawn level

I've had amethyst nodes spawn at extremely low levels of the mine (like level 3 just now), but this article says 80+. How were the spawn levels determined? I think they may not be totally accurate. Goaty (talk) 18:23, 16 April 2017 (BST)

I don't know where the values came from tbh, but I'm in the process of combing through MineShaft.cs to correct them. I've already corrected the gem nodes (Emerald, Aquamarine, Ruby, Amethyst, Topaz, and Jade). I'll double check the ore nodes, mystic stone, and "Gem Node" as soon as I can.  :) margotbean (talk) 20:22, 16 April 2017 (BST)

Ruby Node Spawns

In v1.3, I've found Ruby Nodes at some level of the mines, and I've been careful to avoid reaching level 120 (the bottom). So, what's on the page is no longer accurate. (Assuming it was accurate for v1.2 in the first place.)

Version 1.3 corrected the way timesReachedMineBottom is set, but I'm seeing several changes in monsters that aren't supposed to happen until the player reaches the bottom of the mines, so I suspect there are still subtle bugs in the code somewhere. I plan on updating the page once the final (really truly final) version of the game is released. margotbean (talk) 18:40, 28 August 2018 (BST)

I've also found Ruby Nodes in the mine before reaching the bottom; at least as early as level 100, possibly as early as 80. --NathanDetr0it (talk) 22:18, 24 September 2018 (BST)
As of v1.3.33, The types of node spawns are set in MineShaft::getRandomGemRichStoneForThisLevel. Before reaching the bottom of the mines, amethyst and topaz are possible at any level, jade and aquamarine are possible at level 40+, and emerald and ruby are possible at level 80+. margotbean (talk) 18:49, 4 January 2019 (UTC)

Mystic Stone locations

Yeah, sorry for the bad edit. I was really just looking to remind myself of the percentage chance for dropping a prismatic shard from a mystic stone, after having several farms in a row not drop one from the one you get in the newly unlocked quarry, until I finally got one drop a couple of days ago. Anyway, I noticed that the quarry and skull cavern were absent, and just filled them in without reading the intro sentence. Hopefully this being here on the discussion page might stop someone from repeating my mistake One More Day (talk) 11:31, 15 February 2019 (UTC)

Mining XP

Rocks on the farm that give coal do not always give 6 XP. GameLocation::breakStone events give 5 bonus mining XP. GameLocation::onStoneDestroyed doesnt give the bonus. Can someone please update the chart to correct the misinformation.Raist (talk) 00:28, 20 August 2020 (UTC)

Nice work with the formatting for the article note -- and also the explanation on the article helped me understand your point a bit better. (At first I thought the issue was about which function gets called, but that didn't make sense. Now I understand the issue is which function spawns the coal). How exactly do the mining professions (Miner, Geologist, Prospector, Excavator) affect these "special nodes"?

How do the miner professions affect the following nodes?:
Mystic Node
Mussel Node
Bone Node
Clay Node
Cinder Shard Node
Radioactive Node
