I think that the statue will always produce a "best" gift when it's someone's birthday. (Abigail's birthday i got an Amethyst and on Sandy's birthday a Daffodil) if that continues for a few birthdays it could be added to the page)

For reference, in Object.cs::DayUpdate(), the statue always chooses the first item in the NPC's loved list (from NPCGiftTastes.xnb) if it's his/her birthday. Otherwise, it randomly chooses one of {Diamond, Iridium Bar, Omni Geode, Gold Bar}.
The first item in each NPC's loved list is...
  • Abigail -- Amethyst
  • Alex -- Complete Breakfast
  • Caroline -- Fish Taco
  • Clint -- Emerald
  • Demetrius -- Bean Hotpot
  • Dwarf -- Emerald
  • Elliott -- Lobster
  • Emily -- Emerald
  • Evelyn -- Diamond
  • George -- Leek
  • Gus -- Diamond
  • Haley -- Pink Cake
  • Harvey -- Wine
  • Jas -- Pink Cake
  • Jodi -- Diamond
  • Kent -- Roasted Hazelnuts
  • Krobus -- Diamond
  • Leah -- Salad
  • Lewis -- Vegetable Medley
  • Linus -- Coconut
  • Marnie -- Diamond
  • Maru -- Diamond
  • Pam -- Parsnip
  • Penny -- Emerald
  • Pierre -- Fried Calamari
  • Robin -- Spaghetti
  • Sam -- Cactus Fruit
  • Sandy -- Daffodil
  • Sebastian -- Frozen Tear
  • Shane -- Pizza
  • Vincent -- Pink Cake
  • Willy -- Diamond
  • Wizard -- Super Cucumber
The quality of the item is hard-coded to zero (lowest quality).
If someone else wants to add this to the page, please do! If not, perhaps I'll do it tomorrow. Cheers margotbean (talk) 09:12, 2 January 2017 (UTC)

Essentially useless

Assuming you got an Iridium Bar every non-birthday, kept and sold the most valuable birthday items and had the perks to optimize them (angler, gemologist, etc.), the most you could accumulate from one of these is around 90k per year. So after about 11 years you could theoretically break even, though it is unlikely. Better to invest in a Crystalarium [sp?] or 20 and duplicate diamonds.

The best use for this thing is to always have the birthday items for people, and even that is nearly useless since by the time you can afford one you will likely have everyone at max or be producing better (gold-* or iridium-* quality) items through other means.
