Player-harvested Sunflower Seeds or those produced from a Seed Maker actually sell for 20g on the latest update.
Seeds bought from either Pierre's store for 200g or Joja Mart for 125g sell back for 100g.
There is an interesting bug where if you stack a 100g seed into a 20g seed, both will be worth 20g.
But, if you stack a 20g seed into a 100g seed, both will be worth 100g.
Therefore, if harvesting Sunflower Seeds, make sure to buy a Sunflower Seed from the store first, to start each stack of seeds, so your harvested seeds will all be worth 100g in that stack.
In conclusion, I would argue that this makes harvesting Sunflower Seeds one of the best crops in the game, if paired with a Seed Maker, since
- With a Seed Maker, and an average of 1 Sunflower Seed per harvest and 2 Sunflower Seeds per Sunflower, base profit is ((100*3)-125)/8 = 21.875 g/day
- Lots of seeds means no cost in buying more seeds; you could essentially triple the amount of Sunflowers that you originally planted after each harvest at no cost
- They last Summer and Fall, meaning you have more windows to plant, and the seeds are useful for longer
- They are useful with Speed-Gro and Deluxe Speed-Gro, since they are a one-time harvest, and this can increase the g/day even further

I can confirm that this bug exists in PC v1.2.33. margotbean (talk) 00:14, 8 October 2017 (BST)
- Bug was reportedly fixed in v1.4, but still exists with Joja seeds. Reported to devs; may be fixed in v1.5. margotbean (talk) 20:06, 31 May 2020 (UTC)
