Tower basement event

Getting him to 5 hearts in social will allow you access to a (allows you to change your appearance for 500G) which is found under his tower.

Gifts

Wizard also hates the Dried Starfish as one of his worst gifts

Wizard also dislikes Hazelnut. Please add.

Sewer event

just had an event between Krobus,Dwarf and Wizard, but honestly I´m not sure it is a "wizard" event (I have both him and dwarf at max hearts, krobus at 0). Happened at the sewers, 12 of winter, 5:10 pm. Dwarf and Krobus were arguing and fighting about the elemental wars and player divides them, then wizard appears to stop them and put a magic seal on the peace.

DerekTheRed (talk) 01:50, 18 June 2016 (EDT) Like the above, I don't think the sewer event is a wizard event. On Summer 22, I entered the sewers with Dwarf at 0 hearts, Krobus at 0 and Wizard at 2 and got no cutscene. Then I gifted Dwarf a topaz, bumping him to 2 hearts, and re-entered the sewer to buy a dark essence and got the cutscene.

Toxon (talk) 00:56, 28 March 2016 (EDT) how sure are we about the Wizard being Abby's dad because I've seen nothing in game that suggests that. Abs even dyes her hair, it's not naturally purple. She's brown. Can we get some source before claims are made? Even on the Steam forums it was discussed and Jaz has a better chance of being related to the wizard than Abby does.

I H8 Spiders (talk) 04:20, 21 AUG 2016 (PDT) Upon entering the sewers from town entrance I was given the Krobus and Dwarf "fight" CS. I wanted to share the information that I have in hopes this helps figure out who's CS this is/isn't.

Krobus, Dwarf & Wizard Heart Count were all @ 3; It's the 3rd year and my character is married and has 1 child, and another on the way (fully upgraded home). I've completed the "revive" the community center bundles. The night before I was in the cave late and traded a scroll to the dwarf so I have 1 x gift for the week.

The event preconditions from the code are 691039/f Dwarf 50/n CF_Sewer. (You can read that as event #691039, requires 50 friendship points with dwarf, must have read CF_Sewer letter.) There's no such mail letter, but it's marked read when you eat Krobus' stardrop.
So it seems this event happens after you've eaten the stardrop that Krobus sells, reach at least 0.2 hearts with the dwarf, and then enter the sewers. It's not actually a Wizard event at all and it's already mentioned in the Dwarf article, so I'll remove the section. Pathoschild (talk) 18:03, 27 August 2016 (EDT)

He loves the ??HMTGF?? Statue

I just gave the Wizard the ??HMTGF?? Statue, and he LOVED it. I can't figure out why. I've been through the code, and he should dislike it (like everyone else does).
I tried with two different savegames, two different seasons, two different levels of friendship. He loved it both times.
He disliked the other two "secret" statues...
After checking NPCGiftTastes.xnb, and getGiftTasteForThisItem() in NPC.cs, I tried searching the game code for "wizard" and "155" (the ??HMTGF?? item number in BigCraftablesInformation.xnb) and... nada.
Can anyone please help find the source of this behavior?? (Thank you) :D Margotbean (talk) 21:43, 18 December 2016 (UTC)

Update: I figured it out. The game is using item numbers from BigCraftablesInformation.xnb as well as ObjectInformation.xnb when it decides on an NPC's reaction to a gift. In short, it's a bug. Margotbean (talk) 19:06, 19 December 2016 (UTC)

Random Gifts sent through the Mail

See Caroline's Talk Page for an explanation of how the game determines when an NPC will send you a gift. margotbean (talk) 23:30, 26 September 2017 (BST)

Meeting Wizard without introduction

I am in a playthrough where I became a Joja Co member and have avoided ever having the cutscene with Lewis and the Community Center. At first, the Wizard's tower remained locked. Later (in Winter), I found that I could enter it and have normal interactions, and his name in the list of villagers had now changed from ?? to Wizard. I think the change happened after talking to him at the Moonlight Jelly event, but I can't say for certain. Elara (talk) 07:23, 7 October 2019 (UTC)

Thanks for pointing this out! I'm testing it today, and will add to the page when I figure it out. margotbean (talk) 16:31, 7 October 2019 (UTC)
I've added the details to the "Trivia" section, where there is already text about meeting him. margotbean (talk) 16:49, 8 October 2019 (UTC)

Not So Event-ful

Can the shrine of illusions thing really be considered a heart event? As I understand it, heart events are either cutscenes or letters in the mail, and this is just something you can do. Should this really be considered an event? Fun Cupcake i81 (talk) 21:57, 31 March 2020 (UTC) =)

Implications about who his daughter is

I saw in the notes section that Abigail is theorized to be his daughter, justifying her hair color. Doesn't Caroline specifically say that Abigail dyes her hair, in other words, the purple hair could not have been inherited? ArcaneFocus (talk) 18:39, 21 January 2021 (UTC) Edit#1 - Forgot sig

Okay, I'm kind of curious about unwraveling this now so I'm going through dialogue. These are straight copies from their documented quotes on this wiki. Caroline's potentially relevant lines:

Regular
“Is it just me, or does Abigail have an unhealthy interest in doom and gloom? Maybe I'm just too old to understand.”
“Abby's always had a strange interest in the occult. I'm not sure where she gets it from...”
“Abby was taking online classes here, but I don't think her heart was really in it... She's a free spirit, like I was before I met Pierre. She's probably having the time of her life on your farm.”
“When we first moved to Pelican Town I would take secret walks to the Wizard's Tower. Don't tell Pierre, he has jealousy issues. Abigail was born about a year after we moved to Pelican Town. I wonder if she'll ever experience life outside the valley?”

One last line about Abigail's hair... Makes me wonder if Caroline is the one who dyed Abigail's hair in the first place, and the chestnut color was to make it seem like she is Pierre's daughter?

“Don't you think Abby would look better with her natural hair color? She used to have light chestnut-colored hair.”

Pierre has exactly one line:

Regular
“Does Abigail look anything like me? Don't tell my wife, but sometimes I wonder if I'm really the father.”

This could also be the jealousy problem that Caroline talks about.

Oh okay, Abigail's dialogue actually clears up my question about the hair dye. I think.

Marriage - Good Mood / High Hearts

“I can't even remember the last time I dyed my hair... I swear, it never fades from this color...”

There's a handful of other quotes that seem to imply she has tendencies towards "witchy" things, like prophecy, cats, and some of the content of her strange dreams. This quote by far ties together what the other characters have to say about it.
