Copper Pan

Please tell me the "Items Obtained" section of the Copper Pan page is not yet complete... I don't understand what the adjustments column is saying ("these are the factors that affect the % of finding the item?"), and there are table cells missing. This is a work in progress, yes? margotbean (talk) 21:32, 10 April 2019 (BST)

All the information required is there, but it could be presented better. I thought it was better to have correct information and nicely formatted incorrect information. You are correct, the adjustments affect the chance of finding the items. I can show you how I got those number - I will adjust the shared spreadsheet. The missing cells have no adjustments, their odds dont change.BlaDe (talk) 21:41, 10 April 2019 (BST)
I think I see, if you eat lucky lunch (for example), your chance of getting copper ore goes down, while your chance for getting iridium ore goes up by the same amount.
The table doesn't seem to account for the fact that there are food buffs that give +1, +2, and +3 luck... so is the table showing 0.4 for Lucky Lunch (+3 Luck buff) only? margotbean (talk) 21:47, 10 April 2019 (BST)
It is 0.4% per point of luck, so lucky lunch adjusts it by 1.2% BlaDe (talk) 21:52, 10 April 2019 (BST)
You really really need to put that in the table, either in the text above/below, or the actual table. margotbean (talk) 21:57, 10 April 2019 (BST)
Sorry, I thought it was there. I will see what I can do over my lunch (~3 hrs from now)BlaDe (talk) 22:02, 10 April 2019 (BST)

Slimes drop coal

I thought I noticed in-game that red slimes drop coal from time to time. I thought maybe I was also breaking boxes/crates or rocks at the same time, and in the midst of combat, was never 100% sure. Yesterday, I caught a copper slime dropping coal, for certain.

I've tried tracing the code (without actually executing the decompiled code), and found that the constructor for debris defines coal as a type of valid debris. Debris is created in GameLocation::monsterDrop, which is used by GameLocation::damageMonster. Based on that, I would think any monster could drop coal. But, I've only seen red slimes (including copper slimes) drop it in-game.

Red slimes don't meet the criteria for color-based drops for coal (R, G, and B all less than 80). So, why are they dropping it? ?????

I know you're busy, but if you ever come across the answer to this, I'd love to add it to the wiki. It's also driving me a bit crazy. Cheers, margotbean (talk) 15:49, 23 April 2020 (UTC)

Update: I've found a Shadow Brute and purple slimes dropping coal as well. (Purple slimes in the skull cavern - mostly spawned from Big Slimes, but not always). margotbean (talk) 16:20, 24 April 2020 (UTC)
Hmm. I can't find it.
A monster gets created, and parseMonsterInfo is called to populate the monster's drop table. This goes into the Monsters file, and runs RNG for each entry, putting the hits into objectsToDrop. If you have reached the bottom of the mines, the monsters are buffed, and there is a 0.1% chance of either a diamond or a prismatic being added to objectsToDrop. Some monsters have additional drops added in the constructor (mainly slimes if a slime hutch has been built). When a monster dies, GameLocation::monsterDrop is called, which drops everything in objectsToDrop. There is also calls to Monster::getExtraDropItems which contains extra items that could potentially drop. Slimes can drop coal from getExtraDropItems, but as you have mentioned, sludges don't fill the criteria. There is also no coal in the file for sludges...
I will revisit if I think of what we have potentially missed. BlaDe (talk) 00:21, 4 May 2020 (UTC)
You wouldn't happen to have a video saved of this? That may provide some hints. BlaDe (talk) 03:57, 4 May 2020 (UTC)
No video, but it happens consistently with purple slimes in the Skull Cavern (with and without the Burglar's Ring equipped) at Combat level 10 w/Galaxy Sword. margotbean (talk) 17:20, 4 May 2020 (UTC)

Deleting images

Only the admin and moderators can delete images, that's why you couldn't work out how to do it.  ;) The thing to do is add {{delete}} to the page to mark it for deletion. If you like, you can add a reason, such as {{delete|duplicate image}}.

Side note: The mockup of the new Fishing Strategy page looks good, but I think some thumbnailing of images is going to be needed. Otherwise, I like the complete replacement of outdated/incorrect info. And the few words used -- I can google translate those easily enough.  :D margotbean (talk) 17:40, 15 July 2020 (UTC)

I've changed some of the image names to reflect in-game farm names, and added an "s" to the mountaindistance image. I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but all images with updated names can be found in one place: Category:Fishing Distance images. I've also deleted the duplicate images. Thanks! margotbean (talk) 18:23, 15 July 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for the maintenance. By thumbnailing do you mean displaying them smaller, or uploading lower res versions?BlaDe (talk) 20:05, 15 July 2020 (UTC)
Displaying them smaller.  :) margotbean (talk) 20:21, 15 July 2020 (UTC)

Fishing Strategy

I've gone ahead and updated the page. If you have any additions, corrections, or tweaks, you can make them directly to the page. I'll give it a couple of days, then I'm going to update the other languages. I'll have to mark the pages as untranslated, so don't worry about adding any text. OK? And thanks so much for creating these images! margotbean (talk) 00:11, 16 July 2020 (UTC)

Thank you for that, the page looks good. It's good to be able to provide a more complete picture. I may play around woth colours, but i will be able to update the images directly. I'm sure there will be additional comments on terminilogy coming. BlaDe (talk) 01:24, 16 July 2020 (UTC)

Remixed Bundles

I saw somewhere that you asked if the remixed bundles should have their own page (I think it was you?). I have no opinion on this (I like what you're working on on your user page!), but I just want to remind you that Template:Bundle links to a few of the remixed bundles already, so if we create a new page, then that template has to be changed as well. That's it! Hope all is well! margotbean (talk) 19:15, 10 January 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for the headsup! BlaDe (talk) 11:01, 11 January 2021 (UTC)

Caldera Done.png

I moved the file from "Caldera Done.png" to File:CalderaDistances.png and changed the image name on Fishing Strategy, as requested. :) margotbean (talk) 20:34, 23 January 2021 (UTC)

p.s. In the future, you could upload the image as a duplicate with the correct file name, and then mark the old file page for deletion, with {{delete}}. Just FYI, I remembered this after moving the page. All is well. margotbean (talk) 20:36, 23 January 2021 (UTC)
