The Rain Totem is a crafted item that sets the weather for the next day to rainy. The recipe becomes available at Foraging Level 9. One to three Rain Totems may occasionally be found in treasure rooms in the Skull Cavern.

The Rain Totem may be placed as a decorative item (by left-clicking the mouse). To activate a Rain Totem, select it in inventory and "use" it (right-click with the mouse, directly on top of your character).

The weather in Pelican Town and Ginger Island can be different. Depending where the rain totem is activated will effect on which region the weather is changed.

The Rain Totem will not force the weather to be rainy on festival days or on the 1st day of a season.

If the Rain Totem is used during the winter on a snowy day it will cause it to rain and snow simultaneously the following day.

Using the Rain Totem will never cause a storm, it will only cause rain. However, if used on a storm day, the next day will also be stormy instead of rainy. Storms can be chained this way until the next Festival or till the 1st of any season. This is an easy way to farm a lot of Battery Packs.
