1.05 update

Leah's schedule was fixed in this patch, can someone reextract the schedule data from the game-files to check what alterations there are?

Leah Location

So I did some personal research. The wiki says that she goes to the eastern shore of the "lake" at 12 AM in the spring. Both are incorrect; she exits her cottage at 12 PM, and arrives at the NORTH shore of the RIVER in the forest, just east of the wooden bridge, which is north of where you go to find the Spring Onions. She arrives here at around 1 PM.

Leah's ex

In my game her ex was female, but so is my character. does this change or is she always female?

From what I've noticed, it corresponds to the player's gender. I watched two recordings of the heart events with Leah on YouTube with a male and female player to confirm. Industria (talk) 16:31, 5 September 2016 (EDT)

"(creepy) May I have a Kiss?"???

Lol can't understand what this is about. Does the protagonist ask to kiss the wood? Is "Kiss" here the chocolate named "Kiss"? In any way it just seems weird and quite hilariously out of place indeed.

SZJX (talk) 00:18, 27 March 2016 (EDT)

ducky?

During her pregnancy she will say "Ducky, I'm pregnant. Isn't it wonderful?" - who on earth is ducky? it's not my player name. At other times she may replace Ducky with "sweetheart", which is more logical. I guess ducky is a pet name she uses for the player. Zurgat (talk) 12:39, 17 April 2016 (EDT)

Ten-heart cutscene in bad weather

The wiki currently says that her final cutscene can't appear in bad weather, but it happened to me when it was raining. Here's proof.

Did this change in an update, or was the person that added it incorrect? MasterVash (talk) 21:21, 17 April 2016 (EDT)

I can vouch for this made an account here specifically to bring this up actually. if you wanna check it Shumoko 7/30/2016 3:49 PM ET

You're right, the weather doesn't affect the event. I corrected the page based on the conditions in the game code. Pathoschild (talk) 01:03, 13 September 2016 (EDT)

Cutscene After 8 Hearts As Friends Only

So I got a cutscene after Leah's art show in town (8 heart event) and it doesn't seem to be listed on the page. I'm currently dating another NPC so I've maxed out my hearts with Leah at 8. In this scene, I entered the area by Marnie and Leah's homes and Leah was standing under that large tree north of the pond, trying to get a fruit dangling by it. My character dead lifted Leah into the air so she could pick it. She commented on my strength and that even if her art flops she'll always have a friend to catch her. Has anybody else gotten this scene? I'd like to add it to the wiki but I'm not sure what to classify it as. It doesn't seem to fit the heart-related events considering it didn't advance. Is there a rule for this sort of thing? Thanks! Industria (talk)

Yep, it's a six-heart scene. I think Leah is the only character in the game with two events for the same heart level. It's on the page now. Pathoschild (talk) 01:01, 13 September 2016 (EDT)

Redundant Links?

I feel the recent edit with links might be a bit too redundant format-wise. At the least, I feel it'd be best if only the first mention of anything should be linked. At the most, if they're really necessary, the first mention per section rather than every single instance.--Enkidu (talk) 03:18, 3 November 2016 (GMT)

I added one link to Zuzu City. The rest were edits to links that already existed in duplicate form. I don't care whether the redundant links are there or not. -Trynewideas (talk) 03:36, 3 November 2016 (GMT)
Ah, I see. Thank you.--Enkidu (talk) 12:32, 3 November 2016 (GMT)

Silly Leah quote

I've gotten this a few times recently, so I added it to her dialogue: "You know, I think Xanth has your nose." (replacing the name I gave our second child with "<child name>" in the web page). It's rather funny, as children don't actually have noses in SdV.

Leah Complains about the mess in the house

(new married dialogue) Tuesday winter 16. 11/12 hearts, fully upgraded house. She's gone outside in the morning to feed the animals. At 1pm she returns inside. Blocking her way in at the door, then talking to her triggers this dialogue. "You could have cleaned up in here a little while I was gone..." "It's not very nice to have to wade through a bunch of junk after a hard day of work" "annoyed" portrait shows. She remains blocking the exit for an ingame hour after you stop her at the door.

I'm not sure what causes this dialogue, but I assume it's related to the amount of hearts and me having a lot of devices (cheese press, keg, chests, recycling machine, etc) in the hallway. I didn't see this listed, so I thought I would add it. I could reproduce it by reloading without saving that day, so perhaps i'll come across it again in the future and realize what caused it. All spouses can say something negative when they can't pathfind properly (i.e., something is in their way). See Penny's talk page for a similar question. margotbean (talk) 00:30, 6 September 2017 (BST)

Likes and Dislikes Forged Minerals? Gems?

Am I reading this right? Both "Forged Minerals" are listed under likes and dislikes. --Leo Ascendent (talk) 02:05, 9 September 2017 (BST)

Ahh, EXCEPT and OTHER THAN are easy to miss.--Leo Ascendent (talk) 02:08, 9 September 2017 (BST)

Leah has "Gems" listed under both Likes and Dislikes

Noticed this earlier today when I tried giving Leah a Amethyst as it was on her "likes" list, but got a negative reaction, after looking at her Wiki page it looks like Gems is listed under both Likes and Dislikes. Cuspacecowboy (talk) 10:10, 25 January 2018 (UTC)

I think you missed the word "except". Leah likes all universal likes except gems other than diamond and prismatic shard. margotbean (talk) 21:15, 25 January 2018 (UTC)

Schedule Anomaly

Interesting. Reading the schedule code above, I wondered what would happen if it rained on the 16th of Spring, when Leah has her doctor appointment. Rain is listed first, the appointment after. As it happens, 16 Spring year 2 was rainy in my most recent game, so I ran the file for that day again.

The first thing I noticed is that, despite the 9AM start time listed in the code, the cottage was not unlocked until 10AM, presumably the time that she gets up (at least according to the article). Most of the time, both code and article give her time of arising at 9AM, when the cottage is generally unlocked. At any rate, I found her sculpting, as might be expected. However, at 10:30, the rainy-day schedule was abandoned as she left for the clinic, arriving a little before noon. Harvey was in the examination room while she waited in the waiting room, but then he went upstairs to his apartment about 10 minutes later. Leah finally moved to the exam room, arriving at 1:30PM, and stood there. Harvey did not reappear. Around 3:40PM, Leah left without seeing him, and went to the Saloon.

It looks like the two NPC schedules do not mesh well in this mixture of conditions. In addition, it looks like one code entry can usurp another entry at some given point of the day, meaning the extracted code segments do not exercise complete control, either over entire days, or over deviation priorities. I think this proves that these encodings provide basic schedule constructions used in the game, and mostly they govern how things proceed throughout each day, following straightforward patterns. But the real control is clearly exercised elsewhere in the code, and apparently can get complicated. Butterbur (talk) 19:04, 9 February 2018 (UTC)

Wow! Absolutely fascinating that Harvey seemed to be complying with Leah's rainy day schedule, while Leah followed her appointment schedule. At least, for part of the day. I wonder if schedules are updated in the 10-minute update function, or determined wholly at the start of the day. I also wonder if Harvey is absent from Leah's appointment when it's not raining... I've noticed that he leaves the room and goes upstairs for George's appointments, while George (and Evelyn) hang around for much longer, but Harvey always seems to spend at least some time in the room with them first.
So, I think we can clearly see why the schedules on the villagers' pages are in the state they are currently in, eh? margotbean (talk) 19:54, 9 February 2018 (UTC)
We can indeed! I do think that what we see here indicates that a schedule is not predetermined an entire day at a time, so some intermediate update or driving must be coded somewhere, whether or not it's on that 10-minute cycle. FWIW, Leah responded precisely at 10:30 to go to the appointment, which timing seems to be driven from the point at which she needs to leave the cottage. I've seen other behavioral changes begin somewhere in the middle of a ten-minute segment, but they seem to be driven by the time the NPC needs to arrive at a destination, and maybe they arrive at exactly a ten-minute point. Just a guess... Butterbur (talk) 22:05, 9 February 2018 (UTC)

'Questions' point values + 'Questions' section.

“So why did you become a farmer?”

I want to make tons of money. (No effect on friendship.)

It's more "real" than living in the city. (No effect on friendship.)

to follow in Granpda's footsteps (No effect on friendship.)

I wanted to escape my old life (No effect on friendship.)

I just need the Friendship Point modifications for each choice, then I'll start the 'questions' section on the article. Can someone provide if FPs are modified by any of these choices? MM (Communications) (Crops) 19:47, 25 February 2019 (UTC)

"I want to make tons of money" subtracts 5 friendship points. The other 3 give 5 friendship points.  :D margotbean (talk) 20:51, 25 February 2019 (UTC)

Married but missed 8 and 10 heart events :(

When I managed to hit the 6 hearts mark I went right away and gave her the bouquet and winter was upon us; and I missed the 8 and 10 hearts events. At the time I was unaware winter would be an issue and now I'm married.... is there any way to trigger those? I feel foolish because I feel like I missed out on those and wonder if there is a way to see them materialize. I am also devastated she's somehow "anti-social" missing most events and the saloon at night. She only goes out on Mondays definitely not what I wanted from making her my wife :( I really like her and all but feel like I could've given her more freedom, I mean I know it's a game but I kinda miss finding her in her usual places, I'm on iOS. I just wish she's tag along with me to some of the events it's almost like she just stays home (it's not Spring yet I'm just getting to know what marriage life looks like in the game) and NO, divorce is not an option for me at least. Leah is the only one I like tbh thanks! --MacCentris (talk) 04:28, 6 January 2021 (UTC)

Ok! Well, comes spring this is what happens, I think at the 3rd day or so, both 10 hearts event and 14 hearts event happen as soon as I enter the forest - I missed 8 hearts event completely :( And the biggest problem with that is that her ex talks about the art event (8 hearts) as if it had happened. Not good :(
Perhaps winter wasn't the best time to marry her?
